Three stars of food, fashion and design pick out seriously stylish gifts for men

Author Jacqueline Detwiler Photography Brian Klutch

MARCUS SAMUELSSON

Born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, the chef-owner of Red Rooster Harlem and author of Yes, Chef: A Memoir boasts the offhand style and the encyclopedic culinary savvy of a jet-setter. In addition to a natty jacket and a few kitchen provisions, Samuelsson’s list would include a donation to his wife’s Three Goats Organization, which provides water, education and food for children in Ethiopia.

Clockwise from top: Modernist Cuisine at Home, $140, www.amazon.com; Red herringbone blazer by Gant by Michael Bastian, $890, www.gant.com; custom knife by Paul Cox. $750-$2,000 ($1,500 shown), www.paulcoxindustries.com

“I love that this preppy brand from the ’80s, Gant by Michael Bastian, is having a resurgence. Their latest collection was inspired by a chef’s mise en place. How can you not love that?”
