I thought of all those passengers who now had to talk to the person next to them. I was also a contributing writer and illustrator. Some of my first gigs were with inflight magazines. I loved writing (and illustrating) for a well-traveled, literate audience with sophisticated tastes and broad experience. The kind of people I would actually talk to on a plane if their noses weren't in the magazine...<br><br>(My new book is A BOOK OF AGES, published by Harmony/Random House.
